Novaland CEO named Vietnam’s 2017 Real Estate Personality of the Year

Novaland Group CEO Phan Thanh Huy has been selected the 2017 Vietnam Real Estate Personality of the Year by the editors of Property Report magazine. He will be honoured at the gala ceremony of the third annual PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards on Friday, 2 June.

The Vietnamese executive was chosen to receive the coveted award for his role in Novaland’s consistent delivery of high quality developments that help in improving the standard of living in the country.

“I am honoured to represent Novaland Group and receive the Real Estate Personality of the Year 2017 award from the editors of Property Report magazine,” says Phan Thanh Huy. “This award means so much, not only to myself, but also to Novaland Group employees, customers, stakeholders and partners. This is truly an accomplishment for our entire team that began with a vision shared by our Board of Directors and carried out by our employees.”

“Integrity, efficiency and professionalism”

The Vietnam Real Estate Personality of the Year award is presented to an individual who has made lasting contributions to the local property sector in the past year. It is the only award not selected by the independent panel of judges of the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards.

Phan Thanh Huy has more than 15 years of experience in the finance and real estate industries and has held various senior management positions at Novaland, including deputy managing director and general director before assuming his role as CEO. He currently serves as a member of the firm’s Board of Directors.

A Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Apollos University in the US, Phan Thanh Huy has consistently championed Novaland’s core values – “integrity, efficiency and professionalism” – telling his team to “continuously strive to build our systems, improve procedures and unite our people” in a recent message to employees and stakeholders.

Transforming a Vietnamese brand

Through his leadership, the executive aims to transform Novaland into a recognised and reliable Vietnamese brand in the international real estate market following 25 years of development in Ho Chi Minh City and other key cities in the country.

“We’re passionate about what we do. Our three core values have provided us with the perfect model to accomplish our goals,” he says. “Our activities are based on these guidelines, which helped us to strengthen our team, respect local laws, become more customer-focused, and take public interest into consideration in order to ensure sustainable development.”

Novaland continues to make strides in the sector after being named the year’s Best Developer (Vietnam) at the first-ever Vietnam Property Awards 2015. This year, the firm has earned four nominations, including nods for The Sun Avenue condominium development in HCMC and hotel project Nova Serai Phù Sa.

Journey of excellence

“I would like to thank everyone at Novaland Group for their dedication, joy and passionate hard work throughout this journey of excellence. Importantly, I also would like to thank our customers, partners, investors, and especially PropertyGuru Group for organising this prestigious awards programme.”

Presented by Kohler in 2017, the third edition of the PropertyGuru Vietnam Property Awards is co-organised by local partner Oriental Media. More than 400 guests and VIPs are expected to attend the gala dinner on 2 June at the InterContinental Saigon Hotel ballroom where Winners and Highly Commended awardees in the competition categories, plus other special awards, will be revealed.
